Seeking My Sanctuary is an exhibition about the desire to put oneself in a familiar and safe place that provides a refuge from the outside world. These spaces bring us the most profound sense of security and ability to be ourselves. They are personal. They feel sacred. The artists have a wide range of interpretation for the idea of sanctuary representing them as people, places or things, revealing narratives of where their personal comforts lie. Visually, there is an exciting interplay of color, line and perspective between the works within the exhibition. The artists, Anne Canfield, Phyllis Gorsen and Ekaterina Popova, all work and reside in the Philadelphia area.
